The Australia National Cricket Team wicket-keeper batter Josh Inglis has suffered an injury ahead of the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. This is a massive blow for the Kangaroos given his form, as he has done well in white-ball cricket and has played very little recent red-ball cricket.
The Aussies are set to host the Bangla Tigers for the very first time in a two-match Test series in 23 years. The first match is scheduled to take place from August 13 to 17 at the MCG 2, in Darwin. The matches form part of the 2025–2027 ICC World Test Championship. Both sides will have a good competition, with the home side naming a full squad.

Josh Inglis gets injured ahead of Bangladesh Test
Ahead of the series, the Aussies are on the back foot with Inglis being injured. As per the reports and visuals, he was struggling with back spasms on the first day of Australia's training camp. But he is believed to be fine in the upcoming days, although he has had these before and will be constantly monitored.
Cricket Australia will take no risks if there are any serious injury concerns, as they will add his replacement to the squad soon if Josh Inglis is unable to find himself fully fit before the start of the first Test match. Inglis has always been struggling with injuries in recent times.
Inglis has featured in 5 Test matches; he averages 26.29. In 7 innings, he has scored 184 runs, with a high score of 102. While maintaining a solid first-class average of 34.83 in 65 matches, with 3,344 runs, 8 hundreds, and 12 fifties.
He scored his fastest and only Test hundred in just 90 balls, and this was the second-fastest century on Test debut. He entered the record book after scoring a hundred against Sri Lanka back in 2025 in Galle.
Will Alex Carey and Josh Inglis play together?
Josh Inglis is the back-up wicket-keeper in the series, with the first choice remaining Alex Carey. However, if both are included in the playing XI, sometimes there have been interchanges between them depending on the match situations, as both are incredible on the field as well.
It will be on skipper Pat Cummins and head coach Andrew McDonald to play the right combination for the upcoming two matches. The Aussies recently have not played a Test match recently, so this will be a good warm-up before they tour South Africa. Australia are on top of the World Test Championship standings, while Bangladesh are currently in fourth place.
