New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham has earned recognition as not only a game-changer but also for banter over social media. Over the last couple of years, James Neesham has indulged in quite a few banters with fans and cricketers. But it seemed like on Sunday, Neesham was in no mood for any of that sort when a fan reminded him of the 2019 World Cup final against England.

James Neesham was part of the famous final against England at the Lord’s in 2019 when both the teams fought tooth and nail for the ultimate prize in One-day cricket. England lifted their first World Cup, winning the nail-biting clash by the rarest of margins as the match as well as the super over tied. Eoin Morgan’s men won by virtue of scoring the most boundaries in their innings.

The verdict generated plenty of debates as most people felt that it was not a fair way to decide the result. James Neesham notably batted with Martin Guptill as England set New Zealand set 16 for victory. The left-hander plundered a six in the second delivery of the super over from Jofra Archer, but Guptill could not reach the non-striker’s end for the second run in the final ball when the Kiwis needed a couple.

A fan wrote on his Twitter handle, “I still wish how neesham had finished wc final after smashing archer for a six which led equation came down to 7 off 4,”. The seam-bowling all-rounder, who also picked up three wickets in the match, replied, saying he wants not to be reminded at least a day about that.
