The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Player of the Month award for July 2026 on August 18. Two West Indies cricketers from the Men’s and Women’s Teams, respectively, won the awards. West Indies National Cricket Team pace bowling all-rounder Justin Greaves and West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team captain Hayley Matthews have won the awards.
Greaves has been named as the ICC Men's Player of the Month for July 2026, following his stellar performance in the Test series against Pakistan earlier last month. Hayley Matthews has been named the ICC Women's Player of the Month for July 2026 for her exceptional show in the Ireland series as the Windies won the series.
Justin Greaves surpasses Harry Brook to win Player of the Month award
Justin Greaves, after winning the award for the first time, was delighted as he defeated England vice-captain Harry Brook. He contributed with the bat and ball against Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the home series, and he will cherish the moment for the rest of his life, as this is more special, as the performances came at his home.
"I have had a memorable month playing at home, and to have contributed with both bat and ball against Sri Lanka and Pakistan has been particularly special for me," Justin Greaves said on the performances that had won him the honour. "Having impactful performances in Test cricket is always something I will cherish, especially when they come in front of our home fans."

Greaves stated that he wants to continue delivering match-winning performances in the future and win several awards. He also thanked his teammates and the coaching staff for their help and having contributions in letting him win the award.

West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team captain Hayley Matthews has been a sensational cricketer for the side, as she scored 265 runs over three games to secure a 3-0 ODI series win for her team. She surpassed England Women’s National Cricket Team captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was also nominated for the award.
Hayley Matthews is happy after winning the award once again, as this is her fifth POTM award, and it is always special for her to win the award, as it helps her grow as a cricketer, and she looks forward to winning more awards in the future.
"I am thrilled to win the ICC Player of the Month award once again. It is just as special as the previous ones, and I hope it inspires me to keep raising my standards, contributing to the West Indies, and winning more such awards in the future," she said.
