Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad took a dig at the Indian team after their defeat to New Zealand in the second Test at Pune. Shehzad even compared the Indian team's performance to that of the school boys and claimed that India had become complacent.

After the defeat to New Zealand in the second Test, India lost its first Test series at home in 12 years. It was a proud moment for New Zealand, who won their first-ever Test series in India.

Meanwhile, India have dropped to a new low after this series defeat. Their winning streak is finally broken and the final frontier has been conquered. This was India's first Test series defeat after winning 18 series in a row.

Ahmed Shehzad takes a dig at Team India

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Ahmed Shehzad took a dig at India's performance and claimed that India have been defeated like kids by New Zealand without breaking a sweat. He even added that New Zealand have pulled a prank here.

"New Zealand have come to India and thrashed them as if they had the right to do so, beating them like kids and walking away. They’ve pulled a prank on India. People are now saying, 'Kagaz ke sher, aur ghar mein dher' (Tigers on paper, crumbled at home)," Ahmed Shehzad said.

Beating a full-strength Indian team is no mean feat and New Zealand achieved something that no team has been able to achieve in the last 12 years. Despite having world-class players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah in the Playing XI, India were unable to match New Zealand's dominance.

Ahmed Shehzad compares India's performance with schoolboys

Ahmed Shehzad did not stop here and claimed that India became complacent after their recent success in Test cricket. He even compared this performance with the schoolboys and added that the fighting spirit was missing in Team India.

"When India were bowled out for 46 runs (in the first Test), Rohit Sharma had said, 'Everyone has a bad day.' And we accept that. Absolutely fair. But in this Test match too, the way you’ve played cricket, it seems like you’ve become complacent," Shehzad noted.

"Rohit Sharma says that they don’t believe in unnecessary talk, but that spirit was missing in the last two Tests. These two matches have been played in a way that makes it seem like schoolboys were playing," the Pakistan batter added.

New Zealand take 2-0 lead in the series

India were bowled out for just 46 in the first match, which eventually paved the way for New Zealand to topple India later in the match and take a 1-0 lead. The Men in Blue were expected to make a comeback in the second Test.

But the story didn't change here either and India's dismal batting performance continued. While it was New Zealand's seamers in the first Test, it was time for their spinners to shine in the second Test match.
