Kane Williamson goes unsold at IPL Auction 2025

New Zealand star Kane Williamson has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The former New Zealand skipper was a part of the Gujarat Titans squad for the last season of the IPL.
Williamson has been playing in the IPL since 2015 and has represented two teams so far - Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. In his debut season, he played only 2 games before playing 6 and 7 games in IPL 2016 and 2017 respectively.
In 2018, he was named the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad and he led the team from the very front. Under his captaincy, the Hyderabad-based outfit reached the final before losing against Chennai Super Kings. With the bat, Kane smashed 735 runs with the help of eight half-centuries.
He has not been able to reach even the 400-run mark since 2018. He stayed with the Sunrisers till 2022 before joining Gujarat Titans. In IPL 2024, Williamson played only 2 games and scored 27 runs. Overall, he has played 79 games in the IPL and has scored 2128 runs with the help of 18 half-centuries.
