After a 280-run win in Chennai, the India national cricket team is now gearing up for the second and final Test match of the series against Bangladesh.

The match between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to be played at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, starting on Friday, September 27.

India will look to complete a clean sweep over Bangladesh in the final Test and enhance their chances of qualifying for the World Test Championship Final.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, was outplayed by India during the series opener and is eager to prove itself in the upcoming match.

It Had A Negative Effect - Arvind Kumar Shrivastava

The Green Park Stadium has hosted several historic Tests. The venue has traditionally produced black soil pitches, which are expected to have lower bounce.

As the match progresses, the pitch is anticipated to slow down. The hosts have secured seven wins, lost three, and drawn 13 in 23 Tests at this venue.

Kanpur is set to host a Test match after a three-year hiatus. Arvind Kumar Shrivastava, the secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, highlighted the negative impact of the lack of international games during this period.

“We weren’t given any international cricket for three years and it had a negative effect. We had domestic matches, but without international games, the whole set-up, from outfield to drainage and everything, went awry. We had to refurbish the whole thing,” Shrivastava told RevSportz.

Two Pitches Prepared For 2nd Test Between India and Bangladesh

Kanpur also hosted the hosts' 500th Test in 2016. The venue last hosted a match against New Zealand in November 2021.

Debutant Rachin Ravindra and Ajaz Patel showcased resistance as the last-wicket pair. From India's perspective, the pitch did not deteriorate as anticipated during that match.

According to RevSportz, two pitches are prepared for the second Test match. It will be up to the Indian team management to finalize the pitch for the match.

RevSportz reported that Shrivastava confirmed that one pitch is favorable for seamers, while the other is expected to benefit spinners.

The hosts used a hard red-soil pitch in the first Test in Chennai, which helped their fast bowlers. As they prepare for the second Test, there are questions about their lineup.

The team management will have to finalize their strategy, whether to stick with the same lineup or include Kuldeep Yadav in the XI.

If they choose to field two seamers, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep will compete for a spot as Jasprit Bumrah's fast bowling partner. The upcoming practice sessions are expected to provide clarity.

The hosts opted for a three-pacers and two-spinners combination for the series opener. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were the two spinners in the lineup where Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep, and Mohammed Siraj shared the fast bowling duties against Bangladesh in Chennai
