Karachi Kings have appointed the former England cricketer Ravi Bopara as their new head coach for the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League. The decision was announced just a few days before the beginning of a new PSL season.
While Bopara will be the head coach, former domestic cricketer Mohammad Masroor will serve as the assistant coach and High-Performance coach of Karachi Kings. Masroor has loads of experience and has a fair bit of knowledge about domestic players, which will be crucial in his role.

Despite playing an international match years ago, Ravi Bopara still continued to play cricket till last year. He featured in the last year's Hundred where he represented London Spirit.
However, Bopara has decided to put his coaching hat on now. The 39-year-old will also be one of the youngest coaches going around in the circuit. Overall, he played 13 Tests, 120 ODIs, and 38 T20Is for England.
He was part of England's second-place finish in the Champions Trophy 2013. However, his ODI career was severely affected after England's group-stage exit from the ODI World Cup 2015. He played his last ODI during the tournament and was unable to make a comeback after that.

Mohammad Masroor will serve as Ravi Bopara's deputy in the set-up. The 49-year-old played 55 first-class matches and 20 List-A games during his professional career. However, he was unable to make it to Pakistan's national team.
Masroor was known to be one of the best fielders in Pakistan's domestic circuit. He was named by PCB to work with the country's national team as the fielding coach for the tours of Australia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe in 2024.
He has also worked with Pakistan's senior cricket team during the last two matches of the home Test series against England. He is a veteran of Pakistan's domestic cricket and has lots of experience working with the local players.
Kings aiming for second PSL title
Karachi Kings will be aiming for their second PSL title when they enter the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League. They will be led by the legendary Australia opener David Warner, who retired from international cricket last year.
Warner has replaced Shan Masood as the captain of the team. The Kings have won the PSL just once so far, in 2020, under the leadership of Imad Wasim. They will begin their PSL 2025 campaign on April 12 against Multan Sultans in Karachi.
