Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has picked India’s young sensation, Jemimah Rodrigues, to be his favourite player now following her masterclass in the Hundred tournament. Jemimah hasn’t been in the best of forms off late and she was under a lot of pressure to deliver in international stages.

However, it was only a matter of time for a talent like her to break the silent run and she managed to do it in the best possible way in the first edition of the Hundred Women’s tournament that has been happening in the UK. The rules of the tournament are different and it will certainly take time to adapt as a batsman.

Kevin Pietersen who always tends to get excited with flourishing stroke play was certainly impressed by the knock of Jemimah Rodrigues and he was quick to admit his liking for the knock played by the Indian young women.

Playing for the Northern Superchargers women, Jemimah was in a difficult situation when four wickets went for just 19 runs in a chase of 131 and it was a massive moment in the game. From there, to have won the game single-handed is something extraordinary and certainly, she deserves a big credit.

Jemimah Rodriguez started off her international career with a bang and she had the reputation of playing those long innings but she faded off in the last 18 months without scoring a fifty. She had to be benched on poor form throughout the England series in all the formats, which certainly would have been an ideal time for her to work on her defects.
