Kieron Pollard Retired From Indian Premier League In November 2022
Kieron Pollard is considered one of the top overseas players in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Pollard is one of the greatest cricketers to have played for the Mumbai Indians. He delivered for Mumbai in crucial matches, particularly in games against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the cash-rich league.
The Mumbai Indians faced a tough decision on which overseas player to retain ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The Mumbai franchise retained Pollard due to his loyalty and past impact. They released Quinton de Kock and Trent Boult, who had helped the team secure the title during the 2020 season.
Pollard scored just 144 runs in 11 matches at a disappointing strike rate of 107.46 in IPL 2022. He was released by the team before the IPL 2023 auction. The Caribbean cricketer decided to retire from the Indian Premier League and later became the batting coach of the franchise before the IPL 2023 season.
