India pacer Umesh Yadav expressed his disappointment after he failed to make the cut into the Team India squad for the last three Tests against England. He posted a cryptic story on his Instagram account, highlighting his agony.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (10th February) announced the squad for the last three Tests against England. The governing body handed a maiden call-up to Akash Deep whereas, Jasprit Bumrah, Mukesh Kumar, and Mohammed Siraj retained their spots.

As the team for the last three Tests against England was announced, Umesh Yadav wasn’t happy with it. The pacer seemed to be unhappy after he wasn’t picked for the team, especially after the kind of performances he has been producing in the Ranji Trophy.

Umesh Yadav has been at his absolute best in the Ranji Trophy 2024. Playing for Vidarbha, the fast bowler has oozed his class and has picked 18 wickets in just three matches, establishing himself as one of the best pacers going into the tournament.

With him missing out on the India squad for the last three Tests against England, Umesh Yadav shared a cryptic post on social media. He posted a message on his Instagram story saying: “Kitaabon par dhool jamne se, Kahaaniyan khatm nai hoti (Just because the books are covered with dust the stories won’t stop).”

Despite the sensational performances in the Ranji Trophy, Umesh Yadav was ignored by the selectors. The fast bowler last played for India in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 against Australia. He didn’t have a good outing in the game.

Umesh Yadav along with Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped from the team after the ICC World Test Championship, which India lost. With young players in Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, and others in the ranks as well, it will be tough for Umesh Yadav to make a return.
