The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders have brutally mocked the Australian superstar Travis Head after crushing Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs in the 15th game of the ongoing IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday, April 3.
It was the repeat of the IPL 2024 final, and Kolkata Knight Riders managed to continue their dominance over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
After being invited to bat first, KKR posted the competitive total of 200/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Venkatesh Iyer’s stunning fifties alongside the quick cameo of 32 runs off 17 balls from Rinku Singh at Eden Gardens.
Kolkata Knight Riders hand Sunrisers Hyderabad their worst IPL defeat
While chasing the target, SRH's top order once again faltered, losing their three wickets for just 9 runs against KKR. However, Nitish Kumar Reddy (19), Kamindu Mendis (27), and Heinrich Klaasen (33) showed some resistance, but they could not survive KKR’s rampant bowling attack.
More than half of the Hyderabad team could not face even 10 balls, as they were bowled out for 120 runs inside 17 overs, with KKR winning the game by 80 runs in Kolkata on Thursday.
With this win, Kolkata Knight Riders recorded their fifth consecutive win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, and that is the most by any team in Indian Premier League history so far.
While SRH faced their worst IPL defeat in 2025, surpassing their 78-run loss to CSK in Chennai (2024), KKR became the first team to win 20 or more matches against three different opponents in the IPL. It was Hyderabad’s third consecutive loss in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Travis Head trolled by KKR after another failure against them
Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders capitalized on the opportunity to ridicule Travis Head for his struggles against the franchise following yet another disappointing performance in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Travis Head has struggled badly against KKR in his last three IPL games, managing just 0 (2), 0 (4), and 4 (2).
In the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1, he was clean bowled by fellow Aussie Mitchell Starc. Just a few days later, Vaibhav Arora dismissed him for a four-ball duck in the final. And once again, on April 3, 2025, at Eden Gardens, Arora sent Travis Head packing early to continue his nightmare against the Kolkata side.
To rub salt on Travis Head’s wound, KKR shared a post on social media, directly attacking the SRH opener for his struggle against the side. They mentioned the Aussie star’s stats from the last three IPL games with his name, and the caption was enough to roast the left-handed batter.

The post got mixed responses. Some fans praised the KKR bowlers for getting Head out early, while others slammed the team's social media for making fun of an opponent.
When it comes to playing against India somehow those Head’s single digits become 3 digits score. Amazing!

Not expected from official handle. These kind of posts can only turn very ugly.

After the defeat, the SRH skipper, Pat Cummins, stated, “It was mainly our fielding; overall, bowling wasn’t bad. We should have taken a few catches and stopped them a bit earlier. I will probably address whether we could have used different options, but don’t want to dwell too much on it. We go back to a venue we know so well now.”
