Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be eyeing their third win of the season when they take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 21st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The game is scheduled to take place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (April 8).
Kolkata Knight Riders have not managed to get into their groove so far. They are yet to win two games in a row this season. They started their campaign with a loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru before thrashing Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets to open their account.
However, they suffered a crushing 8-wicket loss in the following game against the Mumbai Indians. Kolkata Knight Riders then thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs to return to winning ways.
They will be looking to make the most of the home conditions and beat LSG in the upcoming game. And ahead of the crucial game, we are taking a look at the KKR Playing 11.
KKR Playing 11 vs LSG- IPL 2025, Match 21:
Openers: Quinton de Kock (wk), Sunil Narine
Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine are set to be the openers in the Kolkata Knight Riders Playing 11 for the upcoming game. They have failed to give their team a good start in the previous two games and will be looking to deliver with the bat in the upcoming match.
De Kock, who scored an unbeaten 97 in the second game of the season, managed to score only 1 in the last game against SRH. On the other hand, Narine was out for just 7. Both openers are capable of playing match-winning knocks and will look to deliver for their team.
Middle-order: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Moeen Ali, Ramandeep Singh, Andre Russell
While the Kolkata Knight Riders' openers failed in the last match, their middle-order came to the rescue. Captain Ajinkya Rahane led his team from the front by scoring 38 runs with the help of four fours and four sixes in a pressure situation.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Venkatesh Iyer were the pick of the Kolkata Knight Riders' batters as both of them scored fine fifties. Raghuvanshi impressed once again with the bat as the youngster scored 50 runs off 32 balls.
On the other hand, Iyer finally managed to ease the pressure off himself by smashing 60 runs off just 29 balls. Rinku Singh also got some much-needed runs under his belt, scoring 32 runs off 17 balls.
Andre Russell came out to bat in the last over and could score only 1 run off 2 balls before being run out. With the ball, the KKR allrounder picked up two wickets.
Moeen Ali and Ramandeep Singh are set to be the other allrounders in the KKR Playing 11. Neither of them got the chance to bat or bowl in the last game.
Bowlers: Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy
KKR are likely to have Harshit Rana as the lead pacer and Varun Chakaravarthy as the frontline spinner.
Moeen and Narine are the other spin bowling options, while Russell will be the other fast-bowling option. KKR are also expected to use Vaibhav Arora as an impact player.
