Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be looking to open their account in the ongoing IPL 2025 when they lock horns against Rajasthan Royals (RR). The game is scheduled to be played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday (March 26).
The reigning IPL champions' campaign began with a dismal performance against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at home ground. KKR suffered a seven-wicket loss after posting a total of 174/8.
As Kolkata Knight Riders looks to bounce back and beat RR, we are taking a look at the KKR Playing 11 for the forthcoming game.
KKR Playing 11 vs RR - Match 6, IPL 2025:
Openers: Quinton de Kock (wk), Sunil Narine
Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine are set to be the openers in the Kolkata Knight Riders Playing 11 for the upcoming game. Even though de Kock failed to impress on his Kolkata Knight Riders debut, he is likely to retain his spot in the team.
The South African star departed in the very first over after scoring 4 runs. Narine, on the other hand, played a fine knock of 44 runs. With the ball, he was Kolkata Knight Riders' most economical bowler, conceding 27 runs in 4 overs in addition to taking a wicket.
Middle-order: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh
Captain Ajinkya Rahane will be looking to lead his team from the front once again. He gave Kolkata Knight Riders a solid foundation in the last game by smashing 56 runs off just 31 balls. Rahane will be keen to take his team to a win in the upcoming game.
Venkatesh Iyer had a poor outing with the bat against RCB. Kolkata Knight Riders' most expensive player was out for just 6 runs and will be looking to bounce back. Rinku Singh also failed to live up to the expectations and departed for only 12 runs.
Young Angkrish Raghuvanshi played some fine shots and scored 30 runs and will be eyeing another productive outing with the bat. Andre Russell had a disappointing outing with the bat as he was out for just 4 and will look to perform better. Ramandeep faced 9 deliveries and remained unbeaten on 6.
Bowlers: Harshit Rana, Anrich Nortje, Varun Chakravarthy
Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to make at least one change to their bowline lineup. South Africa star Anrich Nortje is likely to find a place in the Kolkata Knight Riders Playing 11. Australia's Spencer Johnson is set to make way for Nortje in the KKR Playing 11.
Johnson made his debut for KKR in the last game but could not make an impact, conceding 31 runs in 2.2 overs without taking a wicket. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy are set to be the other bowlers in the KKR Playing 11.
Both Rana and Chakravarthy also failed to make an impact with the ball in the last game and will be eyeing a better display against RR. Rana conceded 32 runs in 3 overs without taking a wicket while Chakravarthy picked up 1 wicket for 43 runs in 4 overs.
