The ongoing tussle between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) over the Eden Gardens pitch is showing little signs of coming to an end anytime soon.

While the franchise has been demanding a slow track from the very start, the Eden Gardens pitch curator, Sujan Mukherjee, has not delivered it yet.

The murmurs over the pitch surfaced again after KKR suffered a 4-run loss against Lucknow Super Giants at the iconic venue earlier this week.

The pitch was completely flat and offered absolutely no help to the home side's spin bowlers. T

he Lucknow-based outfit posted a huge total of 238 runs before the defending champions fell short by just 4 runs.

After the game, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane made it clear that he was furious with the curator and said that he would talk to the authorities about the issue.

"Let me just keep it that way. Jo humare curator hai, unko bahut publicity mila hai (this discussion has just given our curator a lot of publicity). Whatever you'd like to write about home advantage, you can go ahead. If I have any concerns, I will talk to the IPL about it, rather than you guys, and discuss with the concerned authorities," Rahane said.

KKR unhappy with pitch curator:

Home advantage has not helped KKR much this season. They have lost two of their three home games so far. Their campaign began with a crushing 7-wicket loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The pitch for the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad assisted the spinners, and the Kolkata-based outfit went on to win the contest by 80 runs.

However, the surface completely nullified the spinners for the game against LSG, and the Rahane-led side lost the game once again. Following the loss, the franchise and the CAB are at loggerheads once again.

According to a report by Bengali newspaper Sangbad Pratidin, a KKR official and a CAB official had a sarcastic discussion after the game against LSG. The official suggested that CAB was happy that they won the game."

"When the confused CAB official asked the reason, the franchise official stated that the Eden Gardens pitch curator should be given a Player of the Match.

The reigning champions will be in action next on Friday (April 11) when they take on Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
