KKR vs MI: Suryakumar Yadav's DNA Test demanded by former RCB pacer after ton vs SRH

Veteran South African pacer Wayne Parnell expressed admiration for Suryakumar Yadav's batting skills following the Mumbai Indians' (MI) victory against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Wayne Parnell stated that a DNA test should be conducted on Suryakumar Yadav to determine his exceptional talent.

Suryakumar Yadav scored a brilliant century against SunRisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, May 6. He scored an unbeaten 102 runs off just 51 balls, including 12 boundaries and six maximums. The right-handed batter helped the Mumbai Indians to a seven-wicket victory at home.

Chasing 174 runs, the 33-year-old batter came to the crease when the team was in a challenging situation at 31/3. Suryakumar added an unbeaten 145 runs off 79 balls with Tilak Varma for the fourth wicket. Tilak supported Surya from the other end, scoring an unbeaten 37 runs off 32 balls with six fours.

Suryakumar achieved two significant milestones during the recent match. He became the second Mumbai Indians player, after Rohit Sharma, to score two centuries in the IPL. Yadav equaled the tally of KL Rahul and Ruturaj Gaikwad for the most T20 centuries by an Indian, with six centuries to his name.

Wayne Parnell took to social media account X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise Suryakumar Yadav's exceptional batting performances, stating that he is different.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan praised Suryakumar Yadav's commitment and skill, highlighting his recent performances. Pathan stated that Suryakumar has the ability to start steadily and then accelerate.

"Last game Surya Kumar Yadav scored half century and at the start till 15 balls he was literally playing with 100 strike rate and end up scoring at 160. Today also started responsibly. Commitment and skill," Pathan wrote.

Suryakumar Yadav Has Made A Strong Statement - Mohammad Kaif

Mohammad Kaif praised Suryakumar Yadav for his display of strong character amidst the Mumbai Indians' challenges. The former Indian batter stated that Yadav has made a strong statement by taking on Pat Cummins ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

"Surya's match-winning 100 for struggling MI is show of character. By taking on Cummins before the World T20, he has made a strong statement," Kaif wrote on X.

Suryakumar missed a few matches in the IPL 2024. The batter began his campaign with a duck against the Delhi Capitals (DC). He scored fifties against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS). He has scored 334 runs in nine matches at an average of 41.75 and a strike rate of 176.72.

The Hardik Pandya-led team is currently in ninth place in the points table, having secured four wins in 12 matches. The Mumbai team will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, May 11.
