Former Pakistan great and KKR bowling coach Wasim Akram has made quite a huge revelation about the franchise's West Indies duo Sunil Narine and Andre Russell.

Wasim Akram, who served as Kolkata's bowling coach for a couple of seasons, claimed that Sunil Narine and Andre Russell both have a weird sleeping schedule. He picked up this information during his successful time with the franchise and during a candid conversation with Narine during breakfast.

Where did Wasim Akram make this revelation?

The Pakistani legend had recently appeared in Sportskeeda's post-match IPL show and therein, he made this shocking revelation.

Wasim Akram narrated the entire story to the host and the revelation is a shocking one. Akram said that he used to wake up early for breakfast in the team hotel and one day, he saw Sunil Narine turn up with ballon-like swollen eyes.

Upon seeing that, Akram, being the bowling coach, went to Sunil Narine and asked him in a West Indies accent if he was alright or not since his eyes were all swollen. In response, Narine stated that he did not sleep at night.

The left-hand batter and right-arm off-spinner informed Akram that he is complying with the West Indies timezone and that he stays up all night and goes to sleep during the day. In simple words, Sunil Narine confirmed that he doesn't live according to the Indian timezone during the summer IPL months.

Now this brings up an interesting question - when does Sunil Narine practice? When does Narine get so much time to improve his batting in the nets? And how does he even play for the Knight Riders during weekend afternoon matches which start from 3:30 PM onwards? And was he terrorizing batting units with his lethal off-spin without sleeping in the night?

So, according to Wasim Akram who also disclosed that Andre Russell has the same schedule.

"When I was a part of KKR, I would wake up early for breakfast. Sunil Narine came for breakfast with swollen eyes. I asked him, 'Hey mate! What's happening? I asked him why he looked tired. He said I haven't slept. I said what do you mean I haven't slept."

"He said I am on West Indies time. I asked him to explain. Sunil said he stays up at night and sleeps in the day. Even Andre Russell, I think he does the same thing." - Wasim Akram said via Sportskeeda's IPL post-match show.

With 286 runs and 9 wickets already, is Sunil Narine heading towards his best-ever IPL season?

Unlike last season when he only scored 21 runs from 14 matches, Sunil Narine is experiencing one of his best-ever IPL seasons. Or should we say he is heading toward his best-ever season in the tournament? From KKR's 7 matches, Narine has already scored 286 runs at a strike rate of 176.54 which also includes his maiden IPL century.

With the ball, Narine has scalped 9 wickets at a decent economy rate of 7.17. He is less than 100 runs away from matching his best IPL season but in terms of wickets, he still needs more than 10 wickets. But overall, the way he is batting, it is most likely that the 2-time IPL champion will surpass his highest tally of 357 runs in the 2018 season.
