KKR vs SRH: "There's been jokes about money" - Mitchell Starc drops huge remark after winning PoTM award in IPL final

KKR pacer Mitchell Starc ended up picking up 2/14 in the IPL 2024 final against SRH and played his part in helping his side win the third IPL title. He was chosen as the Player of the match after the game.
Starc picked up the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi to peg SRH back inside the powerplay. The Australian pace spearhead ended the season with 17 wickets after a slow start.
KKR roped in Mitchell Starc for 24.75 crores in the IPL 2024 auction. The mastermind behind this call was KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir who entrusted complete faith in him to go on for the season and deliver for the franchise and he finally delivered.
Starc struggled big time in the first half of the season for KKR. He took just five wickets in the first half of the tournament and came back to take 12 more wickets in the second half of the tournament.
His two best performances came in Qualifier 1 and the final where he took wickets in the powerplay. He led the bowling attack throughout the season and endured the difficult times to come back strong and deliver for his team.
Great Night For KKR: Mitchell Starc
At the post-match presentation after bowling KKR to victory, he shared his feelings on the title win with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
"Great night for KKR. What a game, what a season. Probably the two most exciting teams in the final, it was a great final. We have had a fantastic squad of bowlers and batters, our staff have been fantastic to get everyone peaking. We've been such a consistent side, contributions from everyone. We lost the toss and got to use the ball first. Having watched the match a few nights ago here, not really what the wicket was going to do. It was about adapting. Shreyas was fantastic with the way he used the bowlers and fields. Credits to him. The bowling unit showed all the skills" said Starc as he emphasized on the importance of adapting to the venues across formats.
The Aussie pacer further talked about the price tag pressure as the topic was touched upon in the post-match presentation as well. He said that his experience of playing cricket for a long time helped him to handle the pressure.
"There's been jokes about the money. It's been a long time since I have played the IPL. I am experienced, that's helped with all the expectations. Glad that I am experienced and older. It's been a lot of fun. Full credit to the whole players and staff" added Starc.
KKR beat SRH by 8 wickets in the IPL 2024 final. This was the third IPL title for the Kolkata Knight Riders. SRH won the toss and opted to bat first. They were blown away by the KKR bowlers who dismantled their batting lineup. Every KKR bowler picked up a wicket and kept SRH to a below-par score.
KKR chased down the target of 114 rather professionally winning by 8 wickets and 57 balls to spare breaking several records in the process.
