“KL informed me a few days back that he will marry Athiya next year. After that, a close family member from the girl’s side also told me the same. After the T20 World Cup, the team will go for New Zealand tour and after this, the wedding will take place in Maharashtra,” said a BCCI source to ANI.

KL Rahul’s Return From Injury Has Been Lukewarm Thus Far

KL Rahul had been out of the Indian team since the IPL 2022 ended given that he had suffered from a sports hernia and had to travel o Germany to get surgery to correct the issue. Athiya Shetty had also accompanied the cricketer to the European nation.

Rahul then rehabbed in NCA and during his time in Bengaluru, he first suffered from Covid-19 as he was ready to return to the side for the West Indies T20Is and then suffered from a hamstring injury which delayed his recovery.

He finally made his return to the Indian team in the ODI series in Zimbabwe, which India won 3-0, but Rahul looked rusty with the bat in all three matches. He was named in the Asia Cup 2022 squad as well and started with a golden duck against Pakistan on August 28 and then fared poorly against Hong Kong as well.

It remains to be seen whether he gets his mojo back at home when India plays Australia and South Africa before flying to Australia for the  T20 World Cup.
