The 33-year-old Delhi Capitals (DC) star batsman KL Rahul slammed a sensational century in the 60th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) on Sunday, May 18.
KL Rahul created history with his sensational knock in the IPL 2025 match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

KL Rahul demands the opening spot from the DC management
Rahul opened the innings alongside Faf du Plessis for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their first match after the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
This was the seventh different opening pair for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2025, with the next most for a team being five by Chennai Super Kings.
The Delhi Capitals mentor, Kevin Pietersen, revealed that the superstar wicketkeeper-batsman Rahul himself demanded the top-order batting position from the team management and received a green light.
He did an exceptional job while opening the innings and progressed the innings very well. Despite losing his partner early, the right-handed batter displayed a batting masterclass and remained unbeaten till the end.
In his first 20 balls, he scored 25 runs, and in the next 20 balls, he smashed 38 runs. Rahul hit 39 runs in the next 20 balls, and in the next 5 balls, he hit 10 runs.
He smashed 77 runs off 43 balls against the pacers at a strike rate of 179.06, and against spinners, he slammed 35 runs off 22 balls at a strike rate of 159.09.
Rahul completed his ton off 60 balls and remained unbeaten till the very end with 112 runs in his bag off 65 balls, with 14 fours and 4 sixes.

With his excellent batting performance against the Gujarat Titans, Rahul created and shattered several records. He became the batter to face the most balls in an innings in IPL 2025 and the batter with the highest individual score against GT, surpassing Suryakumar Yadav's 103*.
The biggest record that Rahul created was becoming the first-ever player in the history of the Indian Premier League to hit a century in IPL for three different franchises - Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, and Delhi Capitals.
He became the first right-handed batsman to score a century in IPL 2025, and all of his 5 IPL 100s have been not outs.
