KL Rahul is reportedly set to be considered for T20Is once again after impressing with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2025. The right-handed batsman is plying his trade for Delhi Capitals in the 18th season of the IPL.

The reports have emerged after KL Rahul's brilliant century for Delhi Capitals against Gujarat Titans. After batting in the middle-order in the previous games, the wicketkeeper-batsman was asked to open the innings against the Titans, and he justified the decision with a stunning knock.

He scored an unbeaten 112 runs off 65 balls. KL Rahul's knock was studded with 14 fours and 4 sixes. Even before the century, the Karnataka man looked in good touch with the bat. He played a 77-run knock against Chennai Super Kings before smashing an unbeaten 93 against his former team Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

KL Rahul to return to India's T20I team:

With KL Rahul once again showing his class in the shortest format of the game, the selectors are reportedly set to recall him to the T20I side. According to a report in the Times of India, the right-handed batsman will be in contention to play the T20I series against Bangladesh later this year.

India are scheduled to tour Bangladesh in August this year for three ODIs and as many T20Is. Rahul has not played a T20I for Team India for more than two years now. While he has remained a key member of the Test and the ODI side during this phase, the selectors have not handed him a lifeline in T20Is.

Rahul's last T20I appearance for Team India came in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Rahul has not played a T20I since the semifinal loss against England at the Adelaide Oval. So far, Rahul has played 72 T20Is for India and has scored 2265 runs with the help of 2 centuries and 22 fifties.

After the ongoing IPL, he is set to play for Team India in the upcoming Test series against England. With the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retiring, Rahul will be one of the most experienced players in the India squad, and the onus will be on him to lead the charge with the bat.
