KL Rahul Suffers Knee Injury Ahead Of Delhi Capitals' Must-Win Clash Against Mumbai Indians

Delhi Capitals have suffered a big injury blow ahead of their do-or-die clash against Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). Their star batsman KL Rahul has picked up an injury ahead of the match.

According to reports, the Delhi Capitals star was hit on the knee while he was facing Mukesh Kumar in the nets on Tuesday (May 20). KL Rahul left the nets immediately after the blow. There is no update from the franchise on the injury so far.

Delhi Capitals will be desperately hoping that the injury is not serious and Rahul remains available for their upcoming game against Mumbai. Rahul scored a brilliant century in the last game against the Gujarat Titans, and Delhi will be hoping for a similar performance from him against Mumbai.

Delhi need to win the game at any cost to stay alive in the competition. Mumbai and Delhi are in contention for the one remaining playoffs spot. A loss for Delhi would end their campaign at the league stage in IPL 2025. On the other hand, a win will put them in the driver's seat. While a win over Mumbai won't confirm a playoff spot for Delhi, it will put their fate in their own hands.

KL Rahul impresses with the bat:

KL Rahul is enjoying a fine campaign with the bat in the ongoing IPL season. Even though he started the season in the middle-order, it did not affect his batting as the right-handed batsman played a number of match-winning knocks for Delhi Capitals.

He was finally promoted to open the innings in the last game against the Gujarat Titans, and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. KL Rahul scored an unbeaten century, although his effort eventually went in vain as Delhi Capitals suffered a crushing 10-wicket loss.

So far, Rahul has played 11 games and has scored 493 runs with the help of a century and three fifties. With form on his side, Rahul will look to deliver with the bat in the upcoming matches as well to help Delhi Capitals qualify for the playoffs.
