Pakistan batsman Imam-ul-Haq has revealed details about the conversation that occurred between Shadab Khan and Virat Kohli during the Asia Cup, a photo of which went viral. On the eve of the group stage game between India and Pakistan in Pallekele, Virat Kohli visited the Pakistan dressing room and was seen sharing a light moment with the Men in Green.

A photo of the India star sharing a laugh with Shadab Khan had gone viral on social media although not many knew the reason behind it. They were all smiles and indulged in a long, light-hearted conversation with smiles on their face. Imam-ul-Haq recently disclosed the details of the conversation during a podcast. The left-handed batsman revealed that the reason behind the conversation was an Instagram message by Agha Salman to Virat Kohli after the latter’s infamous fight with Naveen-ul-Haq during IPL 2023 earlier this year.

Imam-ul-Haq lifts the lid on Virat Kohli-Shadab Khan conversation:

Virat Kohli and Naveen had a go at each other during the game and it continued after the clash too. The Afghan pacer had refused to shake hands with the former India skipper before LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir got involved too. Kohli and Gambhir had to be separated from the other players.

Imam-ul-Haq revealed that his teammate Agha Salman had hilariously messaged Kohli on Instagram after the incident, urging him to remain calm.

“If you remember, during the IPL, Virat Kohli had a heated altercation with an Afghan bowler named Naveen. It was a big altercation, and even after the match, both players were gearing up for a fight. Gautam Gambhir also joined in. So, it became quite viral, and Virat was visibly angry,” said Imam-ul-Haq.

“Agha Salman then messaged him on Instagram, saying, ‘Kohli bache, take it easy, what happened?'” he added. “No, no, he said, ‘Kohli, brother, take it easy, what happened?’

When the presenter asked whether Salman indeed called Kohli ‘bache’, Imam-ul-Haq said: “Honestly, I don’t know what was said, but one of them confirmed that something was said.

“So, Shadab was explaining this, and then Virat said, ‘I am replying to you and making it viral.'” he added.
