Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav expects that Team India will continue in the same vein against New Zealand in the semi-finals which they have shown in ICC World Cup 2023 so far. Kuldeep Yadav also added that the semi-final loss against New Zealand in the previous World Cup was four years ago and they have played many bilateral series against Kiwis thereafter.
India and New Zealand are set to battle against each other in the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2023. The encounter takes place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 15.
We Expect To Continue With Same Vein: Kuldeep Yadav
While speaking to PTI, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav said he expects the Indian team to continue in the same vein against New Zealand in the semi-finals as well.
“The 2019 semifinals was four years ago. We have played a lot of bilateral series after that, so we know the conditions (in India) and so do they. Our preparation has been good and we have been able to play good cricket throughout the tournament. So, we expect to continue in the same vein in the next match as well,” the left-arm spinner said.
Kuldeep Yadav also pointed out that Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is a difficult venue to bowl but bowlers have plenty of time to come back into the game in ODIs.
“It is a difficult venue to bowl. The bounce is true and batsmen often dominate there. Unlike in T20, of course, the bowlers have plenty of time to come back into the game. But yes, you need a couple of early wickets to get on top of the game and opponents,” Yadav further said.
India has shown an impeccable performance in the ICC World Cup 2023 so far. The Rohit Sharma-led side grabbed lopsided victories in all of their nine matches to finish in the top spot in the points table. India also crushed New Zealand by 4 wickets during the league stage.
