The star India National Cricket Team left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav's mic malfunctioned just as he spoke about not getting consistent chances in the team.
However, the cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar turned savior and made sure that he got the words out of Kuldeep Yadav during the Asia Cup 2025 post-match chat.
Kuldeep Yadav showcases an unbelievable performance vs the UAE
India National Cricket Team opened their campaign in the Asia Cup 2025 with a dominant victory by 9 wickets against the United Arab Emirates National Cricket Team on Wednesday, September 10.
Team India won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match. The bowlers made the most of the decision and wrapped up the innings of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs.
Star left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the chief architect behind the destruction as he returned with unbelievable figures of 2.1-0-7-4.
In just 13 balls, Kuldeep dismissed four UAE batters, including a dominant show in the 9th over where he bagged three wickets.
Notably, Kuldeep Yadav got a chance to play the game for India because of the spin-heavy approach employed by Gautam Gambhir-led team management, which saw the superstar left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh being benched.
You don't play each and every game for India - Sanjay Manjrekar
The left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep was rightfully named the Player of the Match for his heroics against the UAE, and he had a chat with Sanjay Manjrekar during the post-match presentation ceremony.
Sanjay Manjrekar bluntly questioned Kuldeep about his feelings after facing constant snubs, with the most recent one coming in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He stated:
"There is one thing I have noticed over the last few years, which is that you don't play each and every game for India, and there are these gaps that you have. But when you come back, you put in these kinds of performances. It's always back to your very best. How do you make that up?"
It was tough for me - Kuldeep Yadav
As Kuldeep began to respond to Manjrekar's query, his mic malfunctioned and went off, and the only clear line everyone could hear from Kuldeep was 'it was tough for me.
Sanjay Manjrekar made sure to quickly sort out the issue and handed his own mic to Kuldeep, allowing him to express his feelings.
"Maybe your mic is not recording everything that you're saying. So let's use this one," Manjrekar stated.
"Especially in this format, reading the length is important and the batters, what they are trying to do. Also about reaction to what the batters are trying to do against you," Kuldeep said on the new mic.
Kuldeep Yadav, who was playing his first match for India after six months, further thanked the strength and conditioning coach Adrian le Roux for keeping him in shape. He said:
"Thanks to Adrian the trainer. Was working on my bowling and my fitness as well, everything is going perfectly."
