The Lanka Premier League 2024 is all set to commence in July 2024. The countdown for LPL 2024 has already begun as the opening game takes place on July 1. Lanka Premier League is the franchise cricket T20 tournament in Sri Lanka that takes place every year- just like the IPL of India.
There are a total of 5 teams in the Lanka Premier League 2024. They are B-Love Kandy, Galle Marvels, and Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, and Jaffna Kings. These five teams will battle against each other for the LPL 2024 Trophy.
The opening game takes place between B- Love Kandy and Dabulla Sixers on Monday, July 1. The venue of the match is Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele. The LPL 2024 final takes place on July 21 and will conclude the tournament. The venue of the final is R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Many foreign and domestic players are part of the tournament, which will take place just after the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Notably, Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the Super 8 round in the T20 World Cup and was ousted from the league stage.
Now, all Sri Lanka players and fans will enjoy the franchise tournament for almost three weeks. Interestingly, only three venues across Sri Lanka will host all the games in the tournament. Below are all the details you need to know about Lanka Premier League 2024.

All 5 teams will face each other twice during the league stage; playing a total of 8 games. The top four teams in the points table will qualify for playoffs and clash in Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, Eliminator, and Final, like just the Indian Premier League format.
