South African Women's Team skipper Laura Wolvaardt has been facing the heat of a high-pressure World Cup final on Indian soil, much like Pat Cummins did during the 2023 ICC Men's ODI World Cup. Hence, the South African skipper has embraced the same thought process.
The India Women have qualified for the Women's World Cup final against the South African Women. This marks their third entry into the World Cup final, while it is the first for the Protea women, who also finished as runners-up in the previous T20 World Cup final.
This Women's World Cup final marks the next ICC final played on Indian soil since the 2023 ICC Men's World Cup final, which also featured the Indian side.
Laura Wolvaardt repeats Pat Cummins' approach in Women's World Cup Final
The anticipation has been built around the Women cricketers from the Indian team as they take on the Proteas for their third World Cup final. Harmanpreet Kaur led them for the first time in a World Cup.
Laura Wolvaardt, the Proteas skipper, has been facing the heat of the situation as she takes on the Indian Women's team. In the pre-match press release, Laura Wolvaardt showed a much Pat Cummins-like attitude while addressing the Indian crowd.
"Hopefully, we win. I guess that will silence the India fans," said Laura Wolvaardt when asked how her side would deal with the crowd booming in support of the home team.

"Nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent," Cummins said during the pre-World Cup final press release
When Pat Cummins addressed the press ahead of the India vs Australia ICC World Cup final in 2023, he had also ignored the Indian fans and posed a great challenge in front of them.
"I think you've got to embrace it. The crowd's obviously going to be very one-sided but, in sport there's nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent and that's the aim for us tomorrow."
"Yeah, you've just got to embrace every part of it, every part of a final - even in the lead-up, there's going to be noise and more people and interest, and you just can't get overwhelmed," Pat Cummins had said.
"You've got to be up for it, you've got to love it, and just know whatever happens it's fine, but you just want to finish the day with no regrets," he added.
ICC announces huge prize money for Women's World Cup
The two teams have reached the Women's World Cup finals. Earlier this year, the ICC announced a massive increase in the prize money for the ICC Women's World Cup, which has been elevated to nearly $13.88 million (INR 123 crores approx.).
This would mark a surge of 297 percent from the previous Women's World Cup, while it has also marked an increase from the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which was decided on $10 million. The runners-up, on the other hand, will receive half of the winning amount.
