Fans on Twitter reacted after Zimbabwe National Cricket Team beat India in the first game of the five-match T20I series by 13 runs. The match between the two teams took place at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Saturday (6th July).

Asked to bat, Zimbabwe didn’t have a start with the bat as they lost Innocent Kaia for a golden duck. But after that, Wessly Madhevere (21) and Brian Bennett (22) bailed the team out of trouble. The Madhevere and Bennett duo added 34 runs for the second wicket.

But the introduction of Ravi Bishnoi turned things completely for India. The leg-spinner picked four wickets in a flash and also bowled two maidens in his spell which put Zimbabwe on the back foot and they failed to score runs quickly.

But Dion Myers (23) and Clive Madande (29) played well and made handy contributions that powered Zimbabwe to a total of 115 for nine. Apart from Bishnoi, Washington Sundar picked two wickets for India while Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan bagged one scalp each.

India in the chase had the worst possible outing with the bat. Debutant Abhishek Sharma bagged a four-ball duck and his wicket opened the floodgates for the team to collapse at the Harare Sports Club in Harare

India was reduced to 43 for five and was under serious pressure. Skipper Shubman Gill (31) fought hard for his team but he couldn’t carry on as he fell in the 11th over. Zimbabwe bowlers kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals as India was reduced to 86 for nine.

Washington Sundar (27) gave his best for the team and held the one end but he didn’t get the support. The all-rounder took the game to the last over but couldn’t take the team home as Zimbabwe bundled out India for 102 runs to win the game by 13 runs
