On Sunday, July 24, former Pakistan National Cricket Team express pacer Shoaib Akhtar officially announced the launch of his biopic on social media. His biopic is titled ”Rawalpindi Express Running against the odds”.

After the announcement of the launch of his biopic, which is being made by Muhammad Faraz Qaiser and is set to release on November 16, 2023, the former Pakistan pacer conducted a Question and Answer session (Q&A) on his official Twitter handle.

“Q & A for half an hour about this & a lot more. Use the hashtag #RawalpindiExpressTheFilm and you may get lucky with a response,” Akhtar kickstarted the Q&A session with a tweet.

During the session, a fan asked Akhtar to describe former India National Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli in one word. “One word for Virat Kohli #Rawalpindiexpressthefilm,” shared one of his fans on Twitter.

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team pacer, who holds the record for bowling the fastest delivery in international cricket of 161kmph, responded to the fan’s query by labelling Kohli as a legend of the game. “Legend already,” Akhtar responded.

Star India batter Kohli is going through a lengthy lean patch. He has not scored a century since 2019 and in the recently concluded all-format tour of England, the 33-year-old had an awful run.

He registered scores of 11 & 20 in the Edgbaston Test, 1 and 11 in two T20Is, and 16 and 17 in two ODIs. Several cricket pundits, former cricketers and fans have criticised Kohli for his below-par run with the bat for an extended period of time.

However, Akhtar backed Kohli by saying that the former India captain is amongst the all-time greats and he has scored 70 international centuries, which only a great player can score.

“People are saying that he should be dropped. Virat Kohli is finished. There is nothing more left in his career and he would not be able to do anything more in his career. To them, I say Virat Kohli is the greatest player. In the last 10 years, if there has been any greatest player, it is Virat. He has 1-2 bad years, he still has scored runs, just the century has not come,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.

“As a Pakistani, I’m supporting Virat Kohli because he has 70 centuries. It’s not Candy Crush. Only a great player can score these many centuries, something a normal player can’t do. When Kohli comes out of this phase, it will be a different Virat Kohli,” the pacer added.
