Finally, Bollywood Actress Avneet Kaur has opened up to the buzz around Indian cricketer Virat Kohli liking one of her Instagram photos, an incident that occurred a few months before during the IPL and emerged as a major talking point.
After the incident, following Indian cricketer Virat Kohli's liking of one of Avneet Kaur's Instagram photos, took over the internet, and widespread speculations were raised over the relationship between the two.
This incident occurred during Virat Kohli's recent IPL stint with RCB, when they won their maiden title in 2025. This soon spread like wildfire and was the word of mouth for all of India before Kohli publicly issued a statement clarifying the incident behind it.
Actor Avneet Kaur opens up about Virat Kohli liking her Instagram picture
Actor Avneet Kaur has been enjoying the biggest spotlight of her career with an unexpected social media storm involving Virat Kohli, who had unintentionally or rather incidentally liked one of Avneet's previous Instagram posts.
The actor has finally voiced her take on the incident from the trailer launch event of her upcoming international collaboration project, 'Love in Vietnam.'
At the launch event for 'Love in Vietnam,' when a reporter asked about the love she receives from fans and celebrities alike, Kaur responded with a smile: “Milta rahe pyaar, bas. Aur kya bolun main.” (Let the love keep coming, what more can I say?)
The comment came months after Kohli's interaction with her post back in April. Though nothing was direct from the star, she lightly referred to the Kohli incident with her remark.
The controversy surfaced surrounding Kohli 'accidentally' liking the actress's Instagram post
The controversy erupted earlier this year, after Virat Kohli had incidentally liked a picture of Avneet in a lime-green crop top and skirt on Instagram. This interaction went viral in the form of a screenshot, prompting speculations online.
Interestingly, the incident gave Kaur’s brand profile a huge push—her follower count shot up by a million, her brand value reportedly rose by 30 per cent, and she bagged 12 new endorsements.
Kaur will next be seen alongside Shantanu Maheshwari and Vietnamese actor Kha Ngan in the upcoming film, 'Love in Vietnam.' The film has already generated buzz, being the first India-Vietnam collaboration in cinema.
Kohli had clarified it to be a 'glitch' to restrict further assumptions
As discussions surrounding the incident gathered pace, the screenshot was spreading over the social media platforms, and Kohli came forward to shut down the growing rumours on whether the engagement was intentional.
Virat himself issued a clarification on Instagram Stories. “I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding,” he wrote.
Though the cricketer stressed the fact that the 'like' was a glitch, Avneet's statement at the event suggested she was happy with the attention, and why not after she had received widespread praise following the incident?
