Ramiz Raja’s love for making unusual and bizarre comments in the commentary box is well known and the former Pakistan cricketer was at it again on Monday (August 7) when he was commentating during the game between Colombo Strikers and Galle Titans in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL).

Ramiz Raja recently returned to commentary duty after being sacked as the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He made his comeback as a commentator during the Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and has continued plying his trade in the ongoing second edition of the Lanka Premier League.

And Ramiz Raja has caught everyone’s attention once again with his commentary thanks to making a bizarre statement about Pakistan captain Babar Azam. As the star batsman was getting ready to open the innings for Colombo Strikers, Ramiz Raja decided to lavish praise on him in his unique way.

“Safety and security, class and quality, calmness. He’s your guy in such a situation. Can bat deep in the innings,” said Ramiz Raja.

His fellow commentator was quick to react to his comment, as he sarcastically asked him: “You have got few more adjectives?”

In reply, Ramiz Raja hilariously decided to express his admiration for Babar Azam in a bizarre manner, saying: “Yes I absolutely love him. I want to marry him.”

Meanwhile, Babar Azam went on to justify Ramiz Raja’s praise for him by scoring a match-winning century for Colombo Strikers. The Pakistan captain played an unbeaten knock of 104 runs as the Colombo-based outfit won the game by 7 wickets while chasing a big total of 189 runs.

Galle Titans finished their innings on 188 for 3. New Zealand star Tim Seifert top-scored for the Galle-based team, scoring 54 off 35 balls. In reply, the Strikers chased down the total with one ball remaining. Pathum Nissanka and Babar Azam set the tone for the successful chase by adding 111 runs for the first wicket. Tabraiz Shamsi broke the stand when he dismissed Nissanka for 54.

But unlike Nissanka, Babar Azam made the most of the start he got and went on to score a fine century. His knock came off 59 balls and was studded with eight fours and five sixes.
