LSG vs CSK: "Fixer Super Kings" - Fans question third umpire's shock 'wide' call post MS Dhoni's review

Fans on Twitter reacted after the third umpire made a bizarre wide call after MS Dhoni's review in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The 33rd match between the teams is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The umpiring in the game between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has come under scrutiny. It raised quite a few eyebrows during the time when the former skipper of the five-time champions was batting in the last few overs of the game.

In the 19th over of the Chennai Super Kings, Mohsin Khan bowled a delivery that was around the wide line. The on-field umpire didn't give it a wide but after a few seconds, MS Dhoni opted for the review at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The third umpire looked at it and immediately touted it wide as the ball was on the line. MS Dhoni had a middle stump guard and by the looks of it, it didn't seem a wide and the on-field umpire too gave the benefit of the doubt to the bowler. However, the third umpire overturned the call.

With the wide call, Moshin Khan surely lost his rhythm as MS Dhoni went berserk and launched an attack on him. The keeper-batter played a magnificent innings and after that call, he hit the fast bowler for a four and six to make the crowd go berserk at Ekana Stadium.

MS Dhoni ended with then innings of 28 runs off just 9 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 311 and also slammed 3 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. His brutal display with the bat at the end powered Chennai Super Kings to a total of 176 runs on the board.

Actually umpires favours CSK, they got influenced by Dhoni. That was clearly not a wide ball from Mohsin Khan but because Dhoni took that review they simply declared that a wide ball.
