Ajinkya Rahane, on Friday (April 19), once again failed to capitalise on a start as he was dismissed for 36 in the ongoing game between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow.

For the second game in a row, Ajinkya Rahane opened the innings for Chennai Super Kings. He was promoted as to open the innings for the first time last week when Chennai Super Kings locked horns against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Ajinkya Rahane, however, failed to get going at his home ground and was out for just five runs.

In the ongoing game, however, he got the start and was looking in good touch before a brilliant delivery from Krunal Pandya ended his stay. The right-handed batsman was up against the LSG allrounder in the ninth over and was dismissed by him on the very first ball.

It was a length delivery from Krunal and Ajinkya Rahane wanted to play it across the line. He missed the ball completely and was clean-bowled. The ball beat the inside edge before crashing into the leg stump. The veteran batsman departed after scoring 36 runs off 24 balls with the help of five fours and one six.

Watch as Krunal Pandya dismisses Ajinkya Rahane:

Ajinkya Rahane was the third CSK wicket to fall in the game. At the time of writing this report, CSK were on 74 for 3 after nine overs with Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja batting in the middle. Before Rahane, CSK had lost the wickets of Rachin Ravindra and their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad as well.

After KL Rahul opted to bowl first, Mohsin Khan justified his decision by castling Rachin for a golden duck in the second over. Gaikwad and Rahane then added 29 runs for the second wicket before Yash Thakur broke the stand by dismissing the former for 17.

CSK have won their last two games and will be eyeing another win to extend their winning run. On the other hand, LSG will be desperate for a win tonight to end their two-match losing streak.
