Former India pacer Varun Aaron praised Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav for his bowling performances in the IPL 2024. However, Varun Aaron highlighted a minor flaw in Mayank Yadav's bowling action, which makes him prone to injuries.

Mayank grabbed headlines with his express bowling in his IPL debut against the Punjab Kings (PBKS). He took three wickets and earned the Player of the Match award. He also secured another Player of the Match award in the following match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

The 21-year-old pacer's promising start to the season was interrupted by an injury sustained during the third match for the franchise. He left the field after bowling just one over against the Gujarat Titans due to abdominal soreness. He has been out of action since that match against GT.

Really Love Mayank Yadav's Bowling Action - Varun Aaron

Varun Aaron recommended a slight adjustment to Mayank Yadav's bowling action to minimize the risk of injury. Aaron noted that Mayank's left arm tends to get stuck in his hip when it comes down, stating it as an area for improvement.

"His action is really, really good, and I really love his action. The only place where I feel he could look is where his left arm is. When it comes down, it gets stuck into his hip," Aaron shared on Star Sports.

That Will Definitely Put A Little Less Load - Varun Aaron

Varun Aaron advised Mayank Yadav to let his left arm flow freely instead of getting stuck during bowling. He stated that the adjustment would put a little less load on the body.

"So when you talk about generating force and then releasing that force. If you are generating so much force, force is not getting released in the same intensity. You're gonna have a blockage, there's gonna be injuries. So if he can get his left arm go through instead of getting stuck. That will definitely put a little less load on the body," Aaron added.

Mayank Yadav Seems Very Mature - Sridharan Sriram

Mayank Yadav has resumed bowling in nets after recovering from a lower abdominal injury. LSG assistant coach Sridharan Sriram expressed optimism about his comeback in the ongoing tournament.

"I think he's a pretty grounded person, I've just worked with him for the last month or so. He seems very mature and he knows his body well, which is very good for a young rookie pacer. I think coming from Delhi he has that cricket culture with him," Sriram said ahead of their match against the Rajasthan Royals

Mayank Yadav consistently bowls at speeds exceeding 150 kph, with a highest of 156.7 kph. The pacer's ability to maintain a high pace and take wickets has sparked speculation about his potential inclusion in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be played in June.
