Maharashtra Chief Minister announces whopping prize money for Rohit Sharma and 3 other India stars post-World Cup win

India captain Rohit Sharma along with his teammates is having a time of life after Team India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They thumped South Africa by 7 runs in the summit clash at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados to lift their second-ever T20 title in history. 

India captain Rohit Sharma along with Mumbai players Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube played a huge role in the team lifting the T20 World Cup 2024. While Rohit captained the team sensationally well, leading from the front, Suryakumar and Dube came up with a decent batting performance.

Rohit Sharma was the main architect behind the India team winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Not only his batting, but the skipper of the team captained the team sensationally well. He scored 257 runs and was the leading run-getter for the team, which speaks volumes about his efforts with the bat. 

Rohit Sharma displayed sensational leadership as well as he was spot-on with his brilliant tactical changes. The India captain made brilliant bowling changes and field placements, which paid off in almost every game and helped India win the T20 World Cup 2024. 

Suryakumar Yadav too played a decent role with the bat. The batter came up with a sensational performance with the bat in the semi-final against England and the game against the USA, where India struggled to get going. He chipped in with crucial knocks in the important games for the team. 

Suryakumar scored 199 runs in eight games at an average of 28.42, with two half-centuries. But what sidelined his batting performance was the sensational catch of David Miller which he took near the boundary ropes in the final of the T20 World Cup. That catch was the turning point as India went on to win. 

Shivam Dube looked in decent touch as well. The all-rounder batter in the middle and made sure that he plays impactful knocks. He played a vital knock of 27 off 16 balls, including three sixes and a four, at a strike rate of 168-the highest among Indian batters in the final. 

Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal to get 11 crores from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde 

As Mumbai players made valuable contributions to the India National Cricket Team in the T20 World Cup 2024, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced prize money for the four players in Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal for their efforts. 

The Mumbai players will be getting 11 crores from the Maharashtra government. Apart from this, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presented the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue to Indian Captain Rohit Sharma for leading the team to the win in the T20 World Cup 2024. 

After guiding the team to the win in the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the T20Is. He ended his career as an all-time leading run-getter with 4231 runs. The skipper finished with five hundred, the most by a batter in T20I cricket. He also hit 32 fifties and had a career strike rate of 140.
