Maheesh Theekshana Bought By Rajasthan Royals For INR 4.40 crore at IPL Auction 2025

Sri Lanka star Maheesh Theekshana has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The 24-year-old is a right-arm off-break bowler.
Maheesh is not new to playing in the IPL. He has been playing in the league since 2022. He earned his maiden IPL contract from Chennai Super Kings and has played only for them in the IPL so far.
In his first IPL season, Theekshana picked up 12 wickets in 9 games. In IPL 2023, he took 11 wickets and helped Chennai Super Kings win the IPL for a record-equaling fifth time. In 2024, he played only 5 games for the Chennai-based outfit and claimed 2 wickets.
Apart from the IPL, the Sri Lanka spinner has also plied his trade in the Caribbean Premier League, Lanka Premier League, International League T20, and SA20.
In international cricket, Theekshana has played 57 games so far and has picked up 56 wickets. His economy rate in T20Is is less than 7.
