The India National Cricket Team spinner Manav Suthar has returned to play County Cricket ahead of the two-match series against Sri Lanka. He signed for Warwickshire County Cricket Club for the County Season soon after his impressive debut for the Men in Blue side in the one-off Test against Afghanistan earlier last month. Suthar has been named in the 15-man squad for the Sri Lanka Tests.

Manav Suthar signed for Warwickshire for two rounds of the County Championship in June 2026. He played two matches, taking 11 wickets, which included a maiden five-fer for the Club. This showcased his impressive performance in English conditions as well. The spin-bowling all-rounder, after a break, will join for the upcoming match for the Club.

Manav Suthar re-joins Warwickshire for upcoming County matches

Manav Suthar, on his international debut, picked six for 33 in the first innings of their comprehensive win over Afghanistan. The 23-year-old spinner struck with his fourth ball in Test cricket; he joined a rare list of Indians to pick wickets in the first over of a Test match.

Manav Suthar played 3 matches for Rajasthan, taking 18 wickets, including a stellar match-winning performance of 8 for 42 against Chhattisgarh. He has taken 147 wickets in 32 First-Class matches. Later, he was picked by the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 and featured in 4 matches and took 2 wickets.

Will Young also joins for last six matches

Apart from Manav Suthar, New Zealand National Cricket Team batter Will Young also returns after a three-match stint at the end of 2025, and he is also available for the remaining six games of the County Championship.

Will Young has amassed over 8,700 runs in First Class cricket, including 16 100s and 52 50s in 143 matches, while recording 11 50s in Test matches and scoring 1,200 runs. Young scored 72 runs in his maiden innings for Warwickshire in a tie against Surrey last year, averaging 53 over three games.

"We’re very pleased to welcome both Will and Manav"- James Thomas on two players re-joining Warwickshire

Warwickshire won the championship in 2021 and are still in the running for another title even though they are now five points behind the top spot in Division One. They will look to close the margin from the top team, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, who are currently on 116 points in the table with 8 matches already being played.

Warwickshire Performance Director, James Thomas, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome both Will and Manav back to the Bears after both players made a real impact when they were last with the Club.

“We’ve played some good red-ball cricket already this season, and both players will now bring additional quality at a crucial time of the campaign where we are in the mix for the title.

“Will adds experience to our batting line-up, especially with Beau Webster’s time at the Club over for the season, while Manav showed earlier this year that he has the ability to change a game with the ball as well as adding crucial runs.”
