Australian Cricket Team’s star batter Marnus Labuschagne is the new No.1 Test Batter with a rating of 935. The right-handed batter had a dream 1st Test match against West Indies where he smashed a double century in the 1st innings followed by a century in the 2nd innings.

The batter has looked in sublime touch as he showed a lot of intent during testing conditions against the mighty West Indies. The peculiarity of his knock was that he didn’t allow bowlers to settle down as he was seen rotating the strike quite frequently which frustrated the bowling unit.

Joe Root Slips To 4th Position

Former England Skipper Joe Root who was the No.1 Test Batter has gone down to No.4 in ICC Men’s Rankings.

The batter had a topsy turvy 1st Test match against Pakistan on a flat deck. He managed to score 23 runs in the 1st Test match and 73 runs in the 2nd innings. The batter has a rating of 876 and would be keen to make a mark in the 2nd Test match.

Marnus Labuschagne on Cusp of Greatness

The right-handed batter will have a golden chance in the 2nd Test Match against West Indies. The batter has a rating of 935 and is behind Virat Kohli who has an all-time 937 rating & Sir Viv Richards 938 rating. Sir Viv Richards is on the No.10 list of all-time rankings whereas Virat is on the 11th list.

Marnus will have to work a little bit on the spin as the batter looks a bit scratchy. As the 2nd Test Match is going to be a day/night match, we have often seen that scoring runs under lights is tough. It would be interesting to see how the batter fares in the 2nd Test Match as West Indies would be keen to go one step ahead.
