Australia Cricket Team suffered a major blow after star batter Marnus Labuschagne suffered a blow on his hand during the ongoing first Test against Pakistan. The batter got injured on Day 3 during the second innings of the hosts.
The Perth pitch hasn’t been kind to the batters as Australian batters took quite a few body blows. Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne were at the receiving end of some serious blows and needed medical attention. While Smith didn’t look in that much pain, Labuschagne was in a lot of discomfort.
Marnus Labuschagne was hit by the delivery from Khurram Shahzad on the pinky finger of the right hand. The ball from the Pakistan pacer jagged off the length and hit him on the hand. Physios rushed to attend him but he continued batting with that pain.
The pain seemed to have troubled him a lot as he lost his wicket a few deliveries later. But even after that Marnus Labuschagne was getting a lot of medical attention. With a lot of speculations around his injury, the batter will now be taken for scans.
Pacer Josh Hazlewood gave an update about Marnus Labuschagne’s injury and revealed that his finger looked sore. He also confirmed that the batter will be having a scan. Speaking to reporters, he explained (as quoted by Cricket.com.au):
“He was just with the doc and physio for the last hour just chatting through it, doing a few tests on the finger. I daresay there might be a scan … he was pretty sore I think.”
