MI's star batter Quinton de Kock and rising all-rounder Raj Angad Bawa have been ruled out of IPL 2026, and they will continue their rehab under the guidance of the medical team. They will hence announce replacements as per IPL norms.

Mumbai Indians have contributed significantly to the growing stardom of the IPL. However, in recent seasons, they have failed to maintain the momentum and have faced losses instead, finishing at the bottom of the points table on alternate occasions.

This season, as well as the Hardik Pandya-led side have had a disgusting campaign. With just four wins this season after 12 matches, the Mumbai side are ninth in the ten-team points table, and were the first team to be eliminated from this season's race for the playoffs.

Quinton de Kock has been ruled out due to a tendon injury in his left wrist. He had sustained the injury following the home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. On the other hand, Raj Angad Bawa sustained a ligament tear to his right thumb. This incident took place during the match against the Punjab Kings.

Both these players are likely to continue with their rehab at their respective homes under the support and guidance of the Mumbai Indians' medical team. They will soon be announcing the replacement for these players.

Quinton de Kock's good form in IPL 2026

Quinton de Kock, the left-hander, made his return this season for the Mumbai Indians. He was brought into the side after Rohit Sharma was ruled out due to injury. He scored a century in his first game against the Punjab Kings this season.

De Kock has amassed 132 runs across three innings before he was ruled out due to an injury. Though the highest possibility remains that Jonny Bairstow might be announced as his replacement, Rickelton is likely to continue as the lead wicketkeeper batter.

Rickelton's form has been promising this season, as he is the only batter to have amassed 400+ runs for the Mumbai Indians, and he is likely to play for them in the remainder of the two matches.

Mumbai Indians to make massive changes to squad for 2027

The Mumbai Indians are likely to make some massive changes to their squad ahead of the next season in the IPL. Mumbai has played a fine hand on occasions, and several batters have contributed, yet they have not managed to win many matches this season.

The possibilities claim that the likes of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav might be dropped from the MI squad. The MI management would hence hunt for a new skipper from the upcoming season; under those circumstances, from Tilak Varma to Jasprit Bumrah all might be possible options.
