The list of injured players in the Indian team continued to grow with every passing day and it has now been learned that pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is unlikely to take part in the Brisbane Test due to abdominal strain. Besides that, according to reports in India Today, opener Mayank Agarwal, who was dropped for the Sydney Test, has got hit on his hand and has been taken to hospital for scans.
If declared fit, Mayank Agarwal will replace the injured Hanuma Vihari in the playing 11 in the series decider at the Gabba. Vihari, who played a heroic knock on Monday, has been ruled out of the 4th Test and the upcoming England series due to a hamstring tear.
However, the biggest blow to Team India’s fortunes has come in the form of an injury to champion pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

India is already missing the services of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and with Bumrah also set to be on the sidelines, it will mean that two-Test old Mohammed Siraj will lead the pace attack in Brisbane followed by one Test rookie Navdeep Saini and one of Shardul Thakur or T Natarajan.
The final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy kicks off in Brisbane on January 15.
