MCA to send Mumbai's Emerging team for UK tour

According to TOI, the MCA will send its "Emerging Players" team to the UK in the upcoming English summer. It is the off time in the Indian domestic calendar which makes it feasible for the players to travel to the UK.

This will be a great moment for the local players of the city who will get to know about the English conditions and can prepare themselves to become a better cricketer in the future. It will help them nurture their talent as they will be exposed to different conditions.

This initiative will give the young and talented players from the city some invaluable experience of playing abroad. The seamer-friendly conditions in the UK and a high-quality opposition will provide a different exposure to the players.

"MCA will identify and select promising emerging players for a UK tour. The initiative is designed to offer players invaluable experience of international playing conditions and competitive matches against high-caliber opposition," the MCA said in a release.

"This exposure will play a crucial role in their development and preparation for future challenges at higher levels," it further added.

Structured graduation programme for cricketers

The MCA took another decision to introduce a structured graduation programme for its cricketers. The programme will be done in coordination with Mumbai University and will help the players nurture their skills for the higher levels.

"The programme will emphasize practical training, ensuring that aspiring players receive comprehensive hands-on experience. This initiative aims to equip young cricketers with the necessary skills to excel at professional levels while also providing academic qualifications," the MCA stated.

The MCA also announced the beginning of the T20 Mumbai League on May 27, which is just two days after the completion of IPL 2025. It will be the third edition of the leagues and eight teams from different parts of the city will take part in it.
