The Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Tuesday (3rd September) saw history getting scripted. Bangladesh National Cricket Team registered their first-ever Test series win over the Pakistan National Cricket Team in their backyard as they won the series by 2-0.

One of the major factors behind their win was the keeper-batter Litton Das. The right-hander played a magnificent innings in the second game and it proved to be the deciding factor as his team went on to win the game after being put in the pressure situation.

Litton Das came under pressure when Bangladesh were left tottering at 26/6. With conditions favoring fast bowlers, the keeper-batter ensured that he brought his A game and helped his team get out of trouble. He soaked in all the pressure as he played some breathtaking shots to put pressure back on the opposition.

Litton Das played a sensational innings of 138 runs taking Bangladesh close to Pakistan's first innings total of 274 runs. He was supported well by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who played an innings of 78 runs, as the duo bailed the team out of trouble and helped them get back in the game.

After that, Bangladesh were sensational with the ball in the second innings as they wrapped up Pakistan for a low total and set themselves a target of 185 runs to chase, which they did with 6 wickets in hand. They also bagged crucial World Test Championship points and bagged 4th spot on the table.

Litton Das talked about the win, saying that he is happy to be on the series-winning team. He talked about his partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, saying that they wanted to kill the momentum of the Pakistan team. Litton Das added that he wanted to take time to see how things go. Speaking after the game, Litton Das explained:

"It's a big achievement by the Bangladesh cricket team. I am part of this, so I am very happy. When me and Miraz [were] batting, the credit actually goes to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, because of the way he faced 20 balls, and [if he] hits five or six fours, the game will be easier. We just had conversations like this. They had good momentum. We had to kill that momentum.

"And let's see what happens next. And after lunch, we just felt free and just went and batted. When Hasan came, I didn't have any scoring opportunities, because all the fielders were out," Litton said. "So I took my time and thought I had to play the over, not the ramp or anything; I just was thinking how many overs I can play."

"I don't know what it means to all of Bangladesh, but I know Bangladesh is a very proud nation, so we are incredibly happy with these results given the turmoil over the last couple of months.
