Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders will be locking horns against each other in the 51st game of the ongoing IPL 2024. The match is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians played their last four games away from home and managed to win only three of them. They will be hoping to make the most of the home condition and beat Kolkata Knight Riders to end their three-match losing streak.

The five-time champions have a stunning head-to-head record against Kolkata Knight Riders especially at home. Mumbai Indians have won nine of the ten games they have played against the Kolkata-based outfit at the Wankhede Stadium. While form is in with Mumbai at present, they will be taking confidence from the past results.

Rohit Sharma not in the playing XI:

On Friday (May 3), Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first. The hosts then announced an interesting playing eleven for the game. Former captain Rohit Sharma's name was missing from the playing eleven for the game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

The reason behind the absence was that Rohit Sharma was named as an impact player for the game. With Mumbai Indians bowling first, the veteran batsman won't take the field but is expected to come out to bat in the second half of the game. Rohit has not managed to reach even the double-digit mark in the last three innings and would be looking to roar back to form tonight.

"We will bowl. It's always about playing for pride, it looks quite tough for us but at the same time, we want to play good cricket, feels good to be back home. Looks like a good track, it's a fresh wicket so thought that bowling first will be good. Only one change, Naman Dhir comes in place of Nabi," said Hardik Pandya after winning the toss.
