Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pace sensation Mayank Yadav made a stunning comeback after a long gap during the 48th match of the ongoing IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, April 30.

However, Mayank’s comeback was unfortunately short-lived, as the young fast bowler had to leave the field after delivering just one ball in his third over during the LSG vs MI IPL 2024 clash in Lucknow. He already missed the previous five matches for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) due to abdominal soreness in the ongoing IPL 2024, and now he has another injury scare.

The 21-year-old speedster impressed one and all with his remarkable pace and accuracy in his first three matches for the LSG this season. Well, the LSG's head coach, Justin Langer, expressed concerns that Mayank might have aggravated the same injury that had sidelined him before the crucial IPL 2024 match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Lucknow on Tuesday.

Jasprit Bumrah gave valuable advice to Mayank Yadav

Meanwhile, after the LSG vs MI match, which Lucknow won by four wickets, Mayank was spotted back on the field and was receiving some words of wisdom from India and Mumbai Indians (MI) senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah. In a video shared by IPL on X, Bumrah can be seen engaging in conversation with Mayank and his fellow LSG pacer, Yash Thakur.

Notably, Bumrah himself has endured significant injury setbacks and even missed the IPL and major tournaments like the 2022 T20 World Cup due to a back injury. However, Bumrah made a remarkable comeback and strengthened his position as the premier bowler in the world across all formats. Given that, Bumrah's valuable advice could help the young pacer.

Well, the Indian pacer was seen sharing insights and words of encouragement with the young bowlers Mayank and Thakur after the IPL 2024 clash in Lucknow, and a video of the heartwarming moment is going viral on social media. Fans are lauding Bumrah for his heartfelt gesture on the internet.

Giving an update on Mayank’s condition, the LSG head coach Justin Langer stated after the match: “Looks like he is sore in the same spot. His rehab has been perfect, he bowled pain-free in the last week and looked in great condition. But we'll have a scan and find out tomorrow.”

Speaking about the LSG vs MI IPL 2024 match, Lucknow skipper KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bowl first against Mumbai at Ekana Cricket Stadium. They restricted MI to 144/7 in their 20 overs thanks to Mohsin Khan’s 2/36 and cumulative efforts from other LSG bowlers.

Chasing the target, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis single-handedly took LSG over the line with four balls to spare against MI in Lucknow. Stoinis played a brilliant knock of 62 runs off 45 balls, laced with seven fours and two sixes, against Mumbai. MI skipper Hardik Pandya (2/26) was the standout performer for the tourists in the IPL clash against Lucknow.
