Arjun Tendulkar had to walk off the field due to an injury in the ongoing game between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
After failing to find a place in Mumbai Indians' playing eleven for the first 13 games, the left-arm pacer finally got the chance to play for the first time this season. With Mumbai Indians' fate already sealed, they decided to rest their pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and include Arjun Tendulkar in the playing eleven.
The youngster did not take long to impress. He bowled the second over of the LSG innings and conceded just three runs while also troubling Marcus Stoinis with his line and length. He bowled another over in the powerplay as well and impressed again as he gave away just seven runs in the fifth over.
Later, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya gave him the ball to bowl the 15th over. However, the 24-year-old could only bowl two deliveries before walking off the field. He pulled a muscle while running in for the very first ball and was seen hobbling although he decided to continue after being checked by the physio.
However, he ended up conceding two sixes before deciding to leave the field. Bowling to an in-form Nicholas Pooran is a tough task even for the best in the business let alone a youngster who was not even fully fit. The West Indies smashed Tendulkar junior for two sixes in a row before the latter decided to leave the field.
Naman Dhir then bowled the remaining four deliveries of the over and he too failed to stop Pooran as the LSG star slammed him for two sixes and a four. The second six against Arjun also helped Pooran reach his fifty in just 50 balls.
Talking about the game, LSG were on 187 for 6 at the time of writing this report.
