Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Umran Malik opened up about his plans for the game against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their last league game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said that he hasn’t compromised his pace and is trying to bowl the right areas.

Umran Malik didn’t have the kind of tournament he would’ve wished for. The pacer didn’t look and leaked a lot of runs as well. His poor performances even saw him getting dropped from the team after the first few games.

Umran Malik played just seven games in the tournament and has managed to pick just 5 wickets at an economy rate of 10.35. It’s fair to say that he didn’t get the desired backing from the team management and also didn’t look confident as well.

Umran Malik however, has now managed to make the cut in the lineup for the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s last game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He would be hoping to end the season on high and make the most of the opportunity.

Umranaluk said that he will look to perform in the last game and also revealed that he has worked on his variations. Speaking to broadcasters ahead of the game against MI, he said: “I’m playing today. This year, I have bowled a few overs and taken only 5 wickets in 7 games. I believe in hard work. Today I get a chance, hopefully I perform well.

“I haven’t compromised on my pace, I am trying to bowl in the right areas and also working on variations. When the team needs wickets, I try to take wickets, otherwise I try to stop the flow of runs. I am playing after a while, so I’ll try to do my best and execute my plans.”
