A hilarious incident involving two former cricketers, Stuart Broad and Michael Atherton, happened during the third and final Test match between England and the West Indies. Stuart Broad was amused by Michael Atherton sleeping in the commentary box during the second day of the ongoing Test match.

The Ben Stokes-led team started the three-match series with an innings and 114 runs victory over the West Indies at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London. The home team continued their winning run during the second Test match. The England cricket team defeated the Windies by 241 runs to clinch the series 2-0.

"Because of Stuart Broad's commentary!" - Michael Atherton

Stuart Broad is currently pursuing a career as a commentator after retiring from international cricket in July last year. Broad joined the Sky Sports commentary team for the ongoing Test series between England and the West Indies. Atherton has been an elite member of their commentary panel for years.

During the final session of Day 2 of the third Test match between England and the West Indies, Broad humorously asked the cameras to focus on Michael Atherton, who had taken a nap in the commentary box while the match was going on.

The former England pacer shared Michael Atherton's unexpected nap during their commentary session with viewers. Atherton then sarcastically stated Broad's commentary put him to sleep. Sky Sports posted the video on its official YouTube channel.

"An amazing analysis has been done in this chair over the years and it's been incredible to watch. You've been so detailed with the information you've given the viewers and even as an ex-player I loved watching it. But sometimes it just takes it out of you," Broad said.

"It was because of your commentary!" Atherton said.

Broad ended his career as the fifth-leading wicket-taker in Tests. He took 604 wickets in 167 matches at an average of 27.68. Atherton, on the other hand, scored over 7,700 runs in 115 Tests with an average of 37.69, including 16 centuries. Atherton captained England in 97 games, and Broad led in 30 matches.

England Likely To Complete White Wash Against West Indies

England recovered from a poor start on Day 2 to finish in a strong position. England collapsed to 54/5 after restricting the West Indies to 282 runs in their first innings. Joe Root then scored 87 off 124 balls to help England regain control. Keeper Jamie Smith (95) and Chris Woakes (62) propelled England to gain the lead.

England skipper Ben Stokes scored 54 runs off 69 balls with the help of five boundaries and one six. The England cricket team gained a massive 94-run lead after being bowled out for 376 runs in their first innings. Alzarri Joseph bagged four wickets for 122 runs for the West Indies team but conceded 6.9 runs per over.

The England team strengthened their position by taking two West Indian wickets in the second innings. At the close of Day 2, the West Indies were struggling at 33/2, trailing by 61 runs. England aims for a 3-0 whitewash at Edgbaston, having already secured the series with dominant victories in the first two Tests.
