After England crushed India by five wickets in the first Test at Headingley, Michael Vaughan wasted no time taking a cheeky dig at Jaffer. Taking to his social media handle X, the former England player poked fun at Jaffer by saying, “Evening, Wasim Jaffer, hope you are ok… #1-0.”
But Wasim fired back in style. The former Indian opener posted a picture of the Englishman where he was seen in tension at the commentary box as five Indians slammed centuries at Headingley. Michael Vaughan trolls India’s fielding woes at Headingley
However, Jaffer has not yet replied to Vaughan’s 4-0 jab, but the English broadcaster stunned one and all by offering a fielding coach’s role, trolling the Indian cricket team for their comedy of errors throughout the first Test that helped England to win the game at Headingley.
Aiming at India’s disastrous fielding in the first Test that saw almost a dozen missed chances, Vaughan said, “Just to let you all know, I have offered myself to India as a fielding coach… My academy does a roaring trade… #ENGvsIND”

Ben Duckett leads the charge as England stun India with historic 371 chase
Meanwhile, England has pulled off a remarkable win over India in the first Test at Headingley, chasing down a massive target of 371 with 84 balls to spare and five wickets in hand to take a 1-0 lead in the ongoing five-match Test series.
The thrilling Test match went into the final session of Day 5, but England held their nerve to complete the second-highest successful run chase on English soil in Test history. Chasing 371 in the final innings, and that too on Day 5, was no easy task, but Ben Duckett made it possible.
Ben Duckett hammered a brilliant 149 to break India’s spirit on the final day in Leeds.
India makes unwanted record in Headingley
Despite the loss, India created a unique record, becoming the first team in 148 years of Test cricket to have five individual centurions in a match and still lose.
Rishabh Pant scored centuries in both innings, while Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and captain Shubman Gill also got hundreds against England at Headingley.
But Shubman Gill suffered defeat on his debut as India’s Test captain. Now, they will aim for a strong comeback in the second Test against England, starting on July 2 in Birmingham.
