Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has received a big boost ahead of the three-match T20I series between the India National Cricket Team and the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team next month. Before the announcement, Sikandar Raza made headlines with his IPL vs PSL comparison.
Additionally, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) and the BCCI have also confirmed the fixtures of the T20I series. All three T20I matches will be held at Harare Sports Club on July 23, 25, and 26, respectively. The BCCI also announced the Men in Blue's next Test assignment recently.
Zimbabwe Cricket announces FanCode and Zee deal
Before the much-awaited tour, the Zimbabwe Cricket Board has joined hands with FanCode and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. to bring the upcoming T20I series to an extensive audience, with fans set to enjoy the matches on both digital and television platforms.
As part of the deal, FanCode will be the exclusive streaming partner for the three-match T20I series between Zimbabwe and India. On the other hand, Zee Entertainment's newly launched sports channel, Unite8 Sports, will broadcast the T20I series on television.
Notably, FanCode is one of the country's leading digital sports platforms, serving over 240 million users with live streaming of major global sporting events through flexible subscription plans.
On the other hand, Zee is a global media and technology company with a presence in over 190 countries, reaching more than 1.4 billion people through television, digital platforms, films, music, and live entertainment.
Always a special occasion: Tavengwa Mukuhlani
Zimbabwe Cricket Chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani has expressed his content with the new partnership with FanCode and Zee. He believes that this deal will help the T20I series reach more fans and make it one of Zimbabwe's biggest international events.
Tavengwa Mukuhlani said in an official statement on ZC’s website: “Welcoming India to Zimbabwe is always a special occasion, and this tour promises to be even bigger with the broadcast reach that ‘Z’ and FanCode bring together.
We have been working with FanCode for a while and are delighted to continue that partnership for this marquee series. Having ‘Unite8 Sports’ on board as a TV broadcaster is a testament to the growing appetite for Zimbabwean cricket. We expect packed stadiums and full screens.”
