Former English cricketer Michael Vaughan feels that Ravindra Jadeja will be a great successor to MS Dhoni for leading Chennai Super Kings in the future. Vaughan said that Jadeja is the kind of cricketer around whom CSK can build a team after MS Dhoni’s departure from the team. Ravindra Jadeja, regarded as one of the brilliant all-rounders of India, has been part of Chennai Super Kings since IPL 2012.

The 32-year-old bagged the limelight with his fabulous fielding in the match against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021. Jadeja took four incredible catches to give a glimpse of his magical fielding. The left-arm pacer also scalped 2 crucial wickets of Jos Buttler and Shivam Dube in the match.

CSK Can Build A Team Around Ravindra Jadeja: Michael Vaughan

While speaking to Cricbuzz, Michael Vaughan said that Ravindra Jadeja will be a good successor to MS Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings.

“You may say that Dhoni will play for 2-3 more years but let’s be honest, he’s not gonna play a great deal after that. So you’ve got to start looking at who you can build a team around and to me, Ravindra Jadeja is the kind of cricketer that I would build my team around.

“I just think he’s that good with the ball, in the field, with the bat in hand, his mindset, his mentality is very good,” said Michael Vaughan.

Vaughan also said that Jadeja is a good cricketer who is useful in batting, bowling, and fielding.

“Jadeja for me is the kind of player to whom you can say ‘You’re gonna bat at No.4 or 5, get in there early. We might even open the bowling with you, depending on who is batting. We’ll put you in key fielding positions’. He is ready for that. I think he is that good a cricketer,” Michael Vaughan added.

MS Dhoni, who is 39-year-old at present, has led Chennai Super Kings since the inaugural edition in IPL 2008. Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings to three IPL titles in 11 editions that the team has played. In IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings lost to Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in their opening game.

However, CSK bounced back with two back-to-back victories against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. CSK follows Royal Challengers Bangalore on the 2nd spot in the points table.
